Why choose document legalisation from Nova Translate
Legalisation is one of the top services offered by Nova Translate to customers who need to use documents outside Bulgaria.
Nova Translate has concluded a contract with the Consulate Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria for certifying translations of state documents with international significance.
That is why we can easily legalise the documents you need to use abroad.
What is document legalisation?
Different documents are legalised in different ways. This is often done via the so-called Apostille, which is applied by different countries.
The Apostille can be issued by countries that comply with the Hague Convention of 1961.
The Apostille is a state certification that follows standard rules and is applied by a number of institutions in Bulgaria, including:
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where numerous translations from Bulgarian into a foreign language, as well as other documents, are certified;
- Ministry of Education, where documents issued by educational institutions are certified (with exceptions); and
- Ministry of Justice.
Since 2018, notaries certify translations into Bulgarian (i.e. translations of foreign documents) in the presence of a sworn translator. Legalisation of all documents is done differently and often means validation by Apostille to be used with the official authorities of another country.
The Apostille ensures recognition of the document without further verification in the countries that have signed the 1961 Hague Convention.
